Pop Culture in Twilight

This semester, I am in a popular culture class that digs deep into what we see as culture today. The class deals with movies, the web, television, and novels of all sorts.

It is very interesting to look into these different outlets of culture and really analyze what is going on with in them. For instance, we have been analyzing the Twilight series and how it portrays women in our society today. It shows women as mild, meek creatures that depend on men to save them. It also shows that for women to be happy, we need to get married and have children to feel fulfilled.

This is of course absolute crap due to the fact that women are becoming a dominate part of the work force. It is just a very interesting view, and it is very interesting to see the different ways to look into pop culture.

  1. You should continue your blogs. I've read all of them and they are well-written and informative of what's going on in your life. I did a google of you and found your twitter site, which had a link to here. You were....are....and always will be one of the most AMAZING friends I've ever had. You've sort of grown up and away from many of us which is totally OK and is the way of life. Especially for one as energetic and adventurous as you are. But I know, in my heart, that we will be friends forever whether we see each other or not! Now, go out and conquer the world!!

Your "pumpin' music through the air...to get you off your derriere" is still the best voiceover on MusicRadio.
